etc. communications is Nelson Tasman’s most established public relations (PR) and marketing consultancy, comprised of a team of seven, with specialist contractors providing additional support. We offer strategic advice and implementation services within the areas of public relations; corporate communications, internal communications, stakeholder and government relations, community engagement, media relations, crisis communications, issues management and copy writing. Our agency also provides brand development and management services, B2C and B2B offline and online marketing, graphic design, web development, and social media strategy and implementation.
By designing strategic communications campaigns that align to our clients’ business goals etc. communications works towards positive and measurable results for clients. We aim to achieve SMARTER goals; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound goals that we Evaluate and Readjust so clients can measure the value of their campaigns.

Professional diversity rings true for our team; a group of professionals who have worked in-house or for international agencies before landing here at etc. communications. Contributing to the community, some team members also provide strategic expertise in governance or business mentoring roles in Nelson Tasman.
We bring to our work a taste of where we are all from. We have a couple of Americans, a born and bred Nelsonian, two Wellingtonians who love sport, a Wellingtonian who knows nothing about sport, and an Otago-born Cantabrian. Different perspectives and views on life, but shared values, make for a pretty fun workplace.
We’ve lived in Auckland or abroad but have chosen Nelson Tasman as our home – a place where our ordinary is extraordinary to everyone else.

Emma is a communications specialist of 17 years having gained broad experience as a journalist, a ministerial press secretary and in Wellington and Auckland-based PR agencies before establishing etc. communications in Nelson 12 years ago.
Emma has managed the brand development, marketing strategy and PR for many of Nelson’s sector leaders. As an Institute of Directors’ member, Emma is both an independent director on a number of boards and an external board advisor, helping provide strategic direction, communications and issues advice.
Angela joined etc. communications in July 2014 after serving as the Communications Manager and media spokesperson at the Nelson City Council and as the region’s Public Information Manager for Civil Defence. One of her signature accomplishments in Nelson was being wholly responsible for managing communications for the region’s successful hosting of Rugby World Cup 2011.
Prior to moving to Nelson, Angela had 10 years management and communications experience from the USA, including founding a non-profit organisation.
Andy has extensive experience in branding, graphic design and marketing with a career spanning over 25 years. He enjoys working closely with companies to help them achieve their brand and business goals, utilising his love of ideas and flair for conceptualisation to take strategy, creative and content and bring it all to life. Andy’s advanced skills in language, communication and business writing bring real value to his clients’ marketing and advertising copy.
Anna joined etc. communications in August 2014. Having previously worked in the United Kingdom as a marketing manager after gaining a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Marketing and Management), Anna’s most recent role was the Marketing Coordinator at NMIT. With a thirst for strategic planning and integrating SMARTER new technologies that work, Anna keeps updated daily on the latest marketing trends while digging into analytics and consumer behaviours to create informed strategies.
Annabel is a senior communications professional with a background in journalism and more than 12 years in PR, working for both public and private sector clients. Experience includes senior PR roles for Auckland City Council, Fairfax Media, Auckland DHB, and ANZ. Before joining etc. communications, she worked for Nelson City Council, managing communications for the Nelson Arts Festival and raising awareness for the Council’s award-winning Project Maitai/Mahitahi and its multi-million dollar biodiversity project Nelson Nature.
Noel has a background in illustration and graphic design, having earned a BFA in Illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2006. For the past several years, he has also worked in UI/UX design and web development. Noel joined etc. communications in May 2017, and here he is able to apply these disciplines while broadening his knowledge of marketing and social media.
Rebecca provides professional consultation and support to the marketing and public relations activities for clients. She has extensive experience in a variety of event management, executive assistant and advisory roles, both in the public and private sector, including with an internationally renowned PR agency. Prior to joining etc. communications, Rebecca was co-director of a small local company and voluntary teacher aide at her children's school. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology.
